This black skirt is one of Vivi’s most refined creations in eight years — our highest-end design to date.
It features a complex bias-cut technique, rarely used because of its difficulty and high fabric waste rate (over 40%). The result is an elegant drape and perfect silhouette that only luxury brands typically achieve, where cost is never the concern.
While most skirts on the market use about 1.8 meters of fabric, this piece uses 3.5 meters of premium outer fabric plus 3 meters of lining — over 6.5 meters in total — to create a skirt with true volume, structure, and flow.
A design made not for mass production, but for those who appreciate quality, craftsmanship, and quiet luxury.
To make the classic fitted black dress easier to wear, pleatsart added a tie-up design at the back so you can adjust the waist freely — making it fit better and feel more comfortable.
Pleatsart and the pattern maker adjusted the design four times in total.
In the final version, they even remade the sample just to widen the neckline by 1.5 cm — a tiny change that makes a big difference. This small detail helps the arms look slimmer, especially for girls with fuller shoulders, giving the whole upper body a more refined and balanced look.
The design of the cuffs has been completed several times, and the suitability of the insurance is guaranteed.
This one-piece bias-cut design is one of pleatsart’s proudest creations.
Such cutting is extremely challenging: it often causes off-shoulder lines to sit unevenly or the waist and hip curves to lose their smooth flow. Only a truly skilled tailor can achieve this flawless silhouette.
pleatsart invested heavily in making this piece, knowing it might not appeal to everyone — but believing that there are still people who value quality over price, and who can recognize real craftsmanship when they see it.
The fabric hangs nicely and feels high-quality. It’s made from heavy linen, which costs about the same as pure wool.
The mermaid-style hem makes the skirt flow beautifully and helps even girls around 150 cm tall look taller and slimmer.
