Our designer Made Design Adjustments Instead of Simply Copying the Original

This dress is timeless and classic, but designer Vivi wanted it to be more suitable for everyday wear.
Therefore, she made thoughtful modifications to the back design.

In the original Hepburn version, the dress featured a deep, open back with thin straps.
Vivi’s redesigned version replaces that with a straight neckline at the back, reducing the amount of exposure — making it more practical for daily or office wear, while still maintaining elegance.

The brilliance of this dress lies in its neckline — a boat neck in the front with delicate straps, and a perfectly flat straight back. This design is extremely challenging to tailor, a true test of a pattern maker’s skill.

While many stores sell similar styles at various prices, most fail to capture the precise structure and balance of the original. The one-shoulder line and boat neck combination require exact proportions; even a small mistake makes the neckline lose its fit and grace.

This Hepburn-style dress is made with premium European organza embroidered with cotton threads, giving it a soft texture and natural drape. The second layer is polyester fiber for structure, and the inner lining is coated cotton, ensuring comfort and breathability.

Each waist belt is crafted using glue-based materials, which may cause slight yellowing due to the transparent nature of organza — an unavoidable part of the handmade process. Every belt comes with a 2-year replacement guarantee for your peace of mind.

The dress features a mid-waist cut, accurately recreated from Audrey Hepburn’s Oscar gown. This waistline, slightly lower than today’s high-waisted trends, creates a refined and elegant silhouette. However, due to its authentic design, it’s not ideal for concealing the belly — it’s made to highlight the body’s natural curves gracefully.

Additional Notes
Each skirt includes a matching fabric belt with three adjustable holes.
Because of the handmade process, a faint glue trace may appear on the back of the belt — this is normal and does not affect its look or quality.
For daily cleaning, use a soft brush and mild soap to gently clean the belt; do not machine wash or soak the garment.
